Casey Throws Shutout As Indians Defeats West Carroll
Amanda Casey didn’t allow a single run as Indians defeated West Carroll 5-0 on Tuesday. Casey allowed just four hits and induced a fly out from Skiles to end the game.
An early lead helped propel Indians to victory. Indians took the lead on a groundout in the first inning.
Indians captured the lead in the first inning. Sammi Russell grounded out, scoring one run.
Indians scored three runs in the fifth inning. Indians scored on a single by Russell.
A single by Aljets in the first inning was a positive for West Carroll.
Amanda Casey earned the win for Indians. She went seven innings, giving up zero runs, four hits, and striking out eight. Sullivan took the loss for West Carroll. She tossed six innings, surrendering five runs, ten hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Indians collected ten hits. Addy Provi and Bella Intravaia each collected multiple hits for Indians. Intravaia and Provi each managed two hits to lead Indians. Indians was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Katie Mulkins had the most chances in the field with nine.
Aljets went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead West Carroll in hits.
